These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of ReceiptPilot, a mobile app for tracking receipts, gift cards, and spending (the "Service"). By creating an account or using ReceiptPilot, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. For how we handle your data specifically, see our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 13 years old to use ReceiptPilot. By using the Service, you confirm you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
ReceiptPilot lets you log receipts and gift cards, track spending and savings, scan receipts and gift cards with AI to auto-fill details, and receive notifications about product recalls, return deadlines, warranty expirations, and gift card expirations. Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time.
No payment, ever
ReceiptPilot is free to download and use. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and we never ask for payment or billing information.
The Service is funded by advertising and kept sustainable through a monthly AI scan allowance:
You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when creating an account, and let us know at elhamf582@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
You can sign in to the same account from more than one device — your monthly scan allowance is tied to your account, not to a specific device, so it applies everywhere you're signed in. ReceiptPilot doesn't currently support separate family or household accounts; treat your login as personal and don't share it with anyone you don't want to have full access to your data.
By creating an account, you agree to receive certain communications from us electronically — including account and security notices — sent to the email address on your account or as in-app/push notifications. See Section 5 of the Privacy Policy for more on what we send and why.
You retain ownership of the receipts, gift card details, photos, and notes you add to ReceiptPilot ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you — including sending it to our AI provider when you request a scan. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to store any information you enter, including gift card numbers and PINs.
What ReceiptPilot is for
ReceiptPilot is intended for receipts, purchase records, warranties, gift cards, and related household documents. It's not designed as a password manager, medical-record system, or government-ID vault — please don't upload Social Security numbers, passports, driver's licenses, medical records, passwords, full bank account credentials, or other highly sensitive documents unrelated to a purchase.
For anything you may need later for taxes, insurance claims, warranty service, or a legal or employer requirement, keep the original document or receipt too — a scan or photo in ReceiptPilot is a convenience copy, not a guaranteed substitute for the original.
Estimates, not guarantees
Merchant names, amounts, dates, return windows, warranty end dates, and gift card details extracted or estimated by AI scanning are provided for convenience only and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or wrong. Always review AI-filled fields before saving, and verify return policies, warranty terms, and gift card balances directly with the retailer or issuer before relying on them — especially before an estimated deadline.
ReceiptPilot's recall notifications are based on automated matching against public data from the CPSC and FDA, and are not exhaustive or authoritative. We are not affiliated with, and do not speak for, either agency. A missed match, false match, or delayed/failed notification (including due to your device, network, or notification settings) does not mean a product hasn't been recalled — always check cpsc.gov and fda.gov directly for anything safety-critical. The same applies to return, warranty, and gift-card expiration reminders: they're a convenience, not a substitute for the actual terms that apply to your purchase.
You agree not to:
ReceiptPilot relies on third-party providers — including Supabase (hosting/database), Anthropic (AI scanning), Expo (push notifications), and Google AdMob (ads and rewarded-ad bonus scans) — described further in the Privacy Policy. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' own terms where applicable. We aren't responsible for outages, errors, or changes on their end.
The ReceiptPilot app, its design, and its branding are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding beyond what's needed to use the Service normally.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently deletes Your Content as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or discontinue the Service entirely with reasonable notice where practical.
If we ever discontinue ReceiptPilot entirely, we'll try to give reasonable advance notice through the app or by email and give you a window to request your data before final deletion.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-extracted or estimated data will be accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including a missed return window, expired warranty, unrecovered gift card balance, or missed recall — arising from your use of the Service. Because ReceiptPilot is free and we never collect payment from you, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to $100.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
We may update these Terms from time to time, including changes to scan limits or ad behavior as noted in Section 3. If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use ReceiptPilot after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
